ONLINE ASSESSMENT- WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU IN A JOB?

  • This assessment will have you define what is important to you in a job. You will discover how much you value achievement, independence, recognition, relationships, support, and working conditions in a job. You will then get a list of jobs that reflects what you personally feel is important in a job.

  • Go to the link above. It will take about 25 minutes to complete the assessment.  Directions are straightforward

  • You will finish the test and you will get to your “Work Importance Profiler: Summary”.  Read this summary.

  • Towards the bottom of this same page you will see a link labeled “View Your Detailed Needs”.  Expand this.  It will be of interest because on the bottom of the page it rank orders your top 20-30 needs

  • Click “View Occupations” and a list of matching careers will be generated.  Directions are straightforward on how to view and compare these occupations. You can also sort your career results by job family, job zone, salary, etc…

 

ACTION ITEM:  After understanding what is important to you in a job go to link labeled “Master List Of Careers & Goals You Love”. If a new CAREER, BIG GOAL, SMALL GOAL seems like a fit after absorbing content of this unit- add it to your “Master List Of Careers & Goals You Love”. If a CAREER, BIG GOAL, SMALL GOAL no longer seems like a fit after completing unit- remove it from your “Master List Of Careers & Goals You Love”. Put some real thought into this… I purposely designed this eCourse to take 15-20 days. You can go to the next unit after successfully completing this unit and a certain amount of time has passed.
