This eCourse has 30 or so modules.  When writing the course I felt all units were necessary except perhaps this one. I thought this unit fell more into the realm of “interesting” and “perhaps helpful”.  I don’t believe that you can necessarily pick a specific career by knowing your character strengths.  If this unit resonates with you and seems like fun-complete it.  If it does not resonate-move to the next unit.

Can you imagine going to an interview and the hiring manager says the most  important character strengths for this position is someone who has “no humor, lack of social intelligence, has as much leadership as a trained monkey, cowardly, and totally lacks any perspective”  Given I have a sense of humor that would be kind of a funny interview However, I do think knowing your top character strengths has some value in both work and play.  If for no other reason, it can motivate you to increase daily work and leisure activities allowing you to express these character strengths. Once you are at a job I believe it’s important for you to utilize your top 5 signature strengths frequently.
