What Is Earning To Give?
Some people have skills that are better suited to earning money than doing good directly. Basically “Earning To Give” IS your first mission. You donate part of your yearly salary to causes of your choosing. In a later module we discuss the concept of “CAN MONEY BUY ME HAPPINESS”. There is scientific proof/case studies that donating money to worthy causes in and of itself can make you happier. For many people it’s taking that first step in making an initial donation.
Earning To Give Definition:

You specifically pick a career that has a high salary in order to contribute to society through your donations. Obviously this career has to be a reasonable personal fit for you
AND

You donate a significant proportion of your yearly salary. If you reside in a wealthy country and are in middle-upper class this means donating 10% or more of your yearly income.
Impact Examples: This would be your impact, if you earned an average US salary and donated just 10% of your annual income.

Treat 7,100 people for neglected tropical diseases

In the developing world there are millions of people suffering from trachoma-induced blindness which could be completely cured by a safe eye operation, costing only about $20 per person. You could treat literally hundreds of people per year

“Earning To Give Advocate”- You can exponentially expand “The Earning To Give Model” by advocating on behalf of your cause. Specifically convincing others to donate to high impact causes. The money raised by being an advocate can often times be higher than the money you alone are able to donate. This is simply implemented by discussing your cause and the impact of a financial contribution to people and companies you come in contact with.

Think of any careers that could be a both a personal fit and has a high salary that enables you to “Earn to Give”. Add these careers to your “Master List Of Careers”.
